Physical Therapy

The goal of physical therapy is to improve mobility and strength, restore independence, relieve pain, and ensure a safe return to daily activities. It is often prescribed for patients following strokes, orthopedic and reparative surgeries, and many other illnesses.

At National Home Health we offer a variety of physical therapy services, including:

  • Assessment of your home for safety

  • Creating an exercise program for strengthening and improving balance and coordination

  • Gait training with a walker or a cane

  • Instruction on the proper way to navigate stairs or curbs.

  • Screening for fall risk

  • Physical therapy post hip and knee replacements

  • Fall prevention and education

  • Prosthetic training

  • Transfer training, such as moving from a bed to a chair

Physical therapy begins with a thorough evaluation to identify any physical impairments and functional limitations.

Our physical therapists will work with you at home to formulate and establish a treatment plan, monitor your progress, and make adjustments as needed to meet your goals.

Any accompanying pain is closely managed to ensure the greatest possible benefit from therapy.

In addition, we educate patients on in-home exercises and injury prevention techniques to safely ensure long-term independence even after physical therapy is completed.
